Pumps & wells

When a pump quits, the water doesn't wait. We repair and replace the pumps a house depends on.

  • Sump pump repair
  • Battery backup sump pumps
  • Sewage ejector pumps
  • Well pump repair
  • New well pump installation

Sump pump: sits in a pit at the lowest point of the basement and pumps groundwater out before it reaches the floor.

Sewage ejector pump: lifts waste from a basement bathroom or laundry up to a sewer line that runs higher than it.

  • Water heater repair and replacement
  • Tank and tankless
  • Gas and electric

  • Backflow testing

Water heaters

Tank or tankless?

Most homes have one of two kinds of water heater. Here's how they compare.

Type 1 Traditional tank

Keeps a tank of water hot and ready. When showers, laundry or dishes use it up, the tank refills and heats up again.

  • Lower cost up front
  • Simple to replace
  • Higher energy bills
  • Can run out of hot water
  • Shorter life

Type 2 Tankless

Heats water with gas or electric only as it flows, whenever you turn on the tap, instead of keeping a tank of it hot.

  • Lower energy bills over time
  • Small enough to mount on a wall
  • Longer life
  • Higher cost up front
  • Switching over can mean new venting or gas line work

Questions

Good to know before you call.

How soon can you come out?

Call (555) 555-0100 and tell us what's going on. We'll give you a time window on the phone and call before we arrive.

Water is leaking right now. What should I do?

Turn off the main water shutoff, usually where the water line comes into the house, then call us. If the leak is near anything electrical, stay clear of it.

Do you work on wells and sump pumps?

Yes. We repair and replace sump pumps, sewage ejector pumps and well pumps, and we install new ones.

Do you work on rentals and small businesses?

Yes. Landlords, property managers and small shops call us too, and we do backflow testing.

My house is older. Can you work on old pipes?

Yes. We repair and replace older pipe and fixtures, and we'll tell you plainly when a repair is worth it and when it's time to replace.

Do you clean up after the job?

Yes. We cover the floors where we work, haul away the old parts and leave the space the way we found it.

Should I get a tank or tankless water heater?

A tank costs less up front and is simple to replace. Tankless costs more to buy and to switch over to, but it lowers energy bills over time, takes up less space and lasts longer. See the full comparison.
