Texts about your request.

The program is called “Open·Civ texts about your request.” The texts come from Open Civic Intelligence Ventures LLC, doing business as Open·Civ, in Saint Paul, MN. Each one says it’s from “Jacob with Open Civ.”

Texts about the request you made: a reply to your booking or message, a reminder before we meet, and a short follow-up after. That’s about 1 to 3 texts per request.

If you text us first, you get replies to your text. If you ask our receptionist on a call to text you a link, you get that one link. If we miss your call, you may get one text back so you can reply. After we’ve worked together, you may get one request for a review. Never more than three automatic texts in a day.

We never put your number on a marketing list.

You only get texts if you asked for them. The booking form has a box under the phone number that says “Text me about this request.” It starts unchecked, and it only works once you’ve typed a number. Checking it is how you opt in.

If you text our number first, our reply to your text is how texting starts, and you can stop it any time.

If you call, our receptionist may ask: “If we get cut off, is this a good number to text you at? Message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP to opt out.” Saying yes is how you opt in on a call, and we keep a record of the number, the time and the call. If you ask it to text you a link, it says: “I’ll text that to this number. Message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP to opt out.” before it sends the link.

Our own staff get alert texts about new inquiries only after adding their cell in our settings and confirming it with a code.

Saying yes is not a condition of purchase. You don’t have to agree to texts to book a meeting, to work with us or to buy anything from us.

Msg & data rates may apply. Message frequency varies, and it’s about 1 to 3 texts per request, never more than three automatic texts in a day.

Reply STOP to any text to cancel. You’ll get one text confirming you’re unsubscribed, and then no more.

We don’t share or sell your mobile number or your text consent with anyone for their marketing.

If we change these terms, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
